Twelve survivors ride in Halloween: The Game’s roster at launch — ten standard, two Digital Deluxe — and unlike most asymmetric horror games, they are not stat-swapped clones. Every civilian carries four fixed stats and three fixed signature traits that genuinely change the job they do for the squad. This page is the full roster, with trait effects and the role each character is built for. Stat values below are as catalogued in launch roster coverage.
The Four Stats, One Line Each
- Athleticism — movement speed and efficiency on foot and by bike
- Personality — convincing residents, alerting authorities, commanding followers, fear and stalk resistance
- Resourcefulness — repairs, environmental awareness, vehicles and firearms
- Capability — melee weapons and thrown household items
New to the system? The perks guide explains how stats interact with perk decks, and the glossary decodes every term.

What The Standout Traits Actually Do
Trait names alone hide the fun. The effects confirmed in launch roster coverage:
- Full Moon (Rachel) — boosts damage to Michael’s Bloodthirst by 40% when civilians damage or knock him down. Rachel is the arrest-squad anchor: pair her with the arrest strategy.
- Aura of Awareness (Rachel) — widens her personal Shape Jump prevention radius; Sixth Sense gives earlier warning of Michael’s breathing during a Shape Jump. Rachel is the anti-jump specialist.
- Guardian Shadow (Tanya) — followers take 10% less damage; Hi-Fi reveals info about Michael while a noise maker runs; Survival Skills shows nearby phone status. Tanya is the phone-wagon route’s best friend.
- Lone Wolf (Marcus) — a large boost when he is the last civilian alive; Repair Expert stretches repair packs; Trespasser opens locked doors. Marcus is the car escape specialist.
- Ghost (Jennifer) — stalk degrades faster off her; Survival Rage raises her melee damage while terrified. The brawler who punishes a sloppy Boogeyman.
- Spatial Awareness (Laurie) — escape information while she stays calm; Knockout keeps Michael down longer when she helps incapacitate him. The final girl plays balanced and punishes mistakes.
- Popular (Alexis, Deluxe) — followers take 90% less damage, gain fear more slowly, and defend her aggressively; Smooth Talker makes dispatch calls more forgiving. The strongest pure support kit in the game.
- Hunter’s Sense (Eric) — marks nearby escape routes off faint noises; Brimstone Fuse lengthens firecracker disorientation on Michael.
Unlocks: Who Is Locked At Launch?
Two film favorites gate behind account progression: Bob Simms unlocks at account level 40, Annie Brackett at level 55. Account level rises with everything — matches, challenges, both roles — so the progression guide’s advice applies: play anything, unlock everything.
Picking By Squad Role
- Car escape plan → Marcus (Repair Expert, Trespasser, RES 10)
- Phone-wagon plan → Tanya (phone status visibility) or Alexis (forgiving dispatch calls)
- Arrest squad → Rachel (Full Moon, anti-Shape Jump) + Laurie (longer knockdowns)
- Brawler / distraction → Jennifer (Survival Rage) or Bob (CAP 9)
- Solo queue all-rounder → Laurie — balanced stats and tools for every phase
Whichever civilian you pick, the survivor guide is the playstyle manual, the game overview is the starting line, and the game modes breakdown explains what you are surviving for.
