Loomis Tapes Guide — Every Collectible Location in the Story Mode

Where to find every Loomis Tape in Halloween: The Game's story mode: the audio-cue trick, per-chapter locations from 100% runs, and what the collectibles are for.

The story mode’s best-kept secret is audio. Scattered through all six chapters, Loomis Tapes play recordings that layer Dr. Loomis’ side of the hunt into Michael’s — and the game gives you a built-in tape detector: they are audible when you are within range. This page collects every confirmed tape location from launch-week 100% runs, chapter by chapter.

Halloween: The Game — single player 100%: all chapters, challenges & Loomis Tapes

The One Trick That Finds Almost All of Them

Before the locations: the mechanic. Tapes loop their audio when you enter their range — the same collectible logic as Friday the 13th’s Pamela tapes. Practical routing:

  • Clear side rooms as you pass them; most tapes sit a few seconds off the critical path.
  • If you hear a looping voice with nobody around, that is the tape — walk toward it.
  • Tapes are never on the main objective path; they are always a small detour.

Prologue — Smith’s Grove

The prologue hides multiple tapes along Michael’s escape:

  • One sits right at the start of the level — grab it before moving with the objectives.
  • A second is further along the escape route; if you ran past the side area it sits in, the audio cue will call you back.

Completion of the prologue’s six challenges is the bigger prize here — the full route is in our prologue challenges guide.

Chapters 1–2 — First Houses

  • Chapter 1 introduces the house-search rhythm: check side rooms before following the objective marker.
  • Chapter 2 hides a tape in a room off to the side of the main route, and another in the office — both a few steps from where the chapter’s resident objectives play out.

Chapter 3 — The Cemetery Side

  • One tape is inside a house along the route; a second sits in the house north of the cemetery on the map. Both are quick detours while working the chapter’s challenge list.

Chapter 4 — The Laundry Room

  • After clearing the house, a tape is chilling in the laundry room — grab it while positioned for the chapter’s hardest challenge windows (the tier-three stalk on the couple).

Chapter 5 — The Last Tapes

  • Once inside the final house, a tape sits on a table near Laurie’s plot beats. Sweep the interior before following the story to the end.

Are They Worth It?

The tapes are the campaign’s lore layer — Loomis’ voice tracking Michael’s night — and the collectible completionists will want alongside the challenge grind that ends in the legendary 1978 look. If you are only here for multiplayer, the audio-cue habit still pays: it teaches the maps’ side-room geometry faster than any guide.

FAQ

What are Loomis Tapes in Halloween: The Game?
Audio collectibles hidden through the six story chapters, in the tradition of Friday the 13th's Pamela tapes. They play recordings you can hear when you are close — follow the sound to collect.
Do Loomis Tapes unlock anything?
The tapes themselves are the collectible — completion runs treat them as the campaign's secret-history layer. The big unlock tied to single-player is separate: finishing every story challenge awards Michael's legendary 1978 look.
How do I find Loomis Tapes without a guide?
Listen. The tapes play their audio when you are within range, so any looping voice you hear off the main path is a tape. Clear side rooms as you go and you will collect most of them naturally.
How many Loomis Tapes are there?
Completion runs catalog tapes in every chapter — the prologue has multiple, and later chapters place them in side rooms like an office, a laundry room and houses off the main route. The 100% video embed on this page shows every pickup.
Do I need the tapes for the challenges?
No — tapes are a separate collectible track from the six challenges per chapter. You can grab both in one run: the tapes are always off the critical path, a few seconds away.
Why are they called Loomis Tapes?
After Dr. Loomis, Michael's psychiatrist from the 1978 film. The recordings are the game's way of layering the film's lore into the story mode — the same collectible idea as the Pamela tapes in Friday the 13th: The Game.
